Girls Lacrosse defeated Montrose School on Wednesday 18-7, moving their record to 2-0 on the season. The Warriors were led by Sophia Roberts ’29 (six goals), Avery Flaherty ’31 (five goals), and Anna Pizzarello ’25 (four goals). The team travels to Beaver Country Day School tomorrow for their EIL opener.
Baseball traveled to Bancroft School and earned an 11-7 win in the first game of EIL play. The Warriors scattered seven hits in the win, two of which came from Ty Scarcella ’27. Ben Diaz ’25 was terrific on the mound with six strikeouts through four innings, which was enough to earn him the win. The Warriors host Portsmouth Abbey Friday at the farm. The first pitch is scheduled for 5pm.
Track and Field trekked to Portsmouth Abbey on Wednesday for their second meet of the year. The Warriors took on Portsmouth Abbey, Concord Academy, and Bancroft School, and the team came back with some major personal highlights. Leo Blachly-Preston ’26 won the 800m and 1500m, Tomi Olubowale ’25 won the 100m and 200m, and Autumn Allen ’27 won the 100m and Long Jump. There will be a brief lull in the Warriors schedule with no meets next week, but they’re set to host their next meet at Wheeler Farm on Wednesday, April 23.
Girls Tennis opened the season with an impressive 3-2 win over Bancroft last Friday. The team travels to Concord Academy this Friday for another EIL matchup.
Boys Tennis opened the EIL portion of their schedule with a win over Bancroft. Next up for the Warriors are the defending EIL and NEPSAC Class C Champions, Concord Academy. The Warriors will host the match on Friday at 4:30pm at Wheeler Farm.
Boys Lacrosse travels to Beaver Country Day on Friday to take on the Beavers in their EIL opener. With robust participation numbers, the Warriors are excited to get to work this season!

Celebrating Our Winter Student-Athletes
We recently came together to recognize our winter sports teams and student-athletes. We celebrated the Middle School Spirit Awards winners in a special ceremony, and on Tuesday, we honored all of our Upper School Winter Athletics Awards recipients. We’ll have more on the honorees soon on Warriors social media.
Did You Know?
Wheeler’s first-ever boys’ athlete to earn All-American honors was Kevin Johnson ’92. Johnson, who later spent some time teaching and coaching at Wheeler, played collegiate lacrosse at Hofstra University where he was a standout goalie.
