It was two finals appearances in two weeks for the Boys Varsity Soccer team. After capturing the Eastern Independent League (EIL) crown the weekend before, the Warriors had a strong run through the NEPSAC Class C Tournament, advancing all the way to the championship match on Sunday, where they ultimately fell to Millbrook School. It was Wheeler’s first appearance in the NEPSAC championship round since 1987! Despite the loss, it was an incredible season on the pitch. Congratulations to the entire team!
Boys Soccer joined all of our fall teams last evening in Isenberg Auditorium for the Upper School Fall Sports Awards. In addition to celebrating player and team accomplishments, including coaches awards and All-EIL and All-NEPSAC selections, Director of Athletics Sean Kelly ’02, P’35, P’37 highlighted the culture that every Warriors team and individual athlete contributes to together. “A strong culture is built in the small choices we make every day -- the way we communicate, the standards we hold, and the energy we bring” he said in his welcoming remarks. “It has not been easy, but together, with support, positivity, and embracing the concept that small things aren’t always small, we are building a sports culture that embodies Wheeler’s spirit and represents the essence of who we are.”
Now the Warriors turn to winter sports! You can find Middle School Winter Middle School Winter Sports HERE and Upper School Winter Sports information HERE.
